Confirmed from City Creek Loop Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Nice easy hike with some friends, we did it a few times last year. Like some others have said it's not the best marked, we did go different paths each time but it was all good.

★★★★★ — Derrick , Jun 2022

pretty good place for a easy quick hike. only problem about this trail is how many users there are and how many people have dogs off leash and get mad at me and my dog when we have to make them hold onto their dog.

★★★★★ — Jason , Aug 2021

This hike is kid and dog friendly. Nicely shaded with a creek that the trail goes next to.

★★★★★ — Jennifer , Jul 2024

Trail is often broken into two sections lower city creek trail and upper city creek trail head. The lower part is easier partly shady and follows along a small creek. Well used and popular with hikers and mountain bikers. Easy-moderate.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
