Confirmed from City Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Peaceful park featuring a playground and a splash pad, plus a memorial to the band Alabama.

What runners say about City Park

well-maintained 8 mentions

“Nice grassy park with multiple picnic tables, clean restrooms, and a tulip themed water fountain.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“This place is so beautiful.”

Good place for family get together or parties. Also have walking track and exercise equipment around the track. They have a splash pad for summer for kids to play and stay cool. Only thing that really needs improvement is the bathrooms. They are never clean clean and always out of toilet paper.

Public park in downtown Ft.Payne, Alabama. There are monuments to Confederate soldiers, markers to historical events facing the Cherokees, such as the Trail of Tears, and the founding of FtPayne, and the Cherokee alphabet that was invented by Sequoyah. There are statues of the Alabama Band.

Always loved the park. It feels wholesome and safe. It made me happy when it became a trendy Pokemon go spot. It is a little close to the railroad and I wish it was larger and had more to do. You can walk through it in 2 minutes .

Great place for birthday parties, easter celebrations, etc. Great for the whole family and plenty of space for the little ones to run and rip and play.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
