Really enjoyed this park, small lake, but the campsites are roomy and clean. There doesn't seem to be a lot of Lakeshore access due to cattails, but if you are looking for a hiking park with beautiful trees, this is a good option.
We loved this hike! There was plenty of beautiful scenery and some really good trails. It was easy to navigate which made the sight seeing better. There were beautiful creeks, falls and a stunning lake. This is a low moderate hike that will give you a nice workout but not a vigorous workout.
Super amazing park. It was really quiet, and clean, has plenty of trails to explore, and has really nice bathrooms and showers. Oh and the lake....amazing! I was there when the weather was quite cold, so no swimming for me, but it would be such a fun lake to swim in because of how clear that water is.
What a beautiful and fun state park! The hike was a little more of a challenge than some of the others near DFW, which our group appreciated. We visited on a Sunday morning and there weren't as many people as we were initially expecting and generally others were respectful of letting everyone have their space.
