Confirmed from Clove Lakes Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Wide hiking trails ideal for walking or running.”

Perfect place to spend in the spring and summer. The Grass was wet and muddy when I got there, but overall it's nice 👍. A long track to Walk and jog. There's a restroom and bridge 🌉 to walk over and see the ducks and geese in the river. There is a little playground with a swing set and a slide.

This park is so vast, and the trails are well kept, easy to walk... but there are some challenging climbs. Just take your time because it is worth the views. Dog friendly, kid friendly, and bike friendly.

★★★★★ — Irasema , Jan 2025

One of the finer parks on Staten Island this spacious area is loaded with activities for those that love the outdoors. Wide hiking trails ideal for walking or running. Two baseball fields and 3 full basketball courts. Playground on site as well as public restrooms.

The grass is definitely greener over here!!!! This is a park I could fall asleep in n not be worried...u only hear ducks and geese and other birds...people might be on their walks or jogging but that's it..loved it ...there's no entrance fee or dress code....lots of shade under trees....

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
