Confirmed from Compton Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This open area offers a playground & walking trails, one of which leads to a lookout over a wetland.
What runners say about Compton Park
“Relatively clean, large, open park with a large walking trail and rolling hills for extra work.”
“Great for running or just having a good time with friends or a couple just don’t go around 2-3 to many kids from school but definitely a chill area”
This is a BEAUTIFUL park. I like the hills. It is great for rollerblading if there are not too many people walking; however, it is very popular. Last time I went there were about 15 people walking the paths.. The parking is not adequate for such a beloved park. The park does NOT have a restroom.
Love this park.I needed a place to walk after 3 hospital stays with pneumonia. I walk early in the morning usually when its dark and I FEEL VERY SAFE THEIR. They have lights on the path and other ppl are always walking. Its clean and kept up well. My dog enjoys his walks with me and seeing other ppl.
When the weather is nice outside, this is the place to spend your time. The playground is small but nice. The walking/running trail is beautiful and I've always felt safe here. The best though ; it has a bird sanctuary with a nice lookout.
I love this park. Seem to be very safe a good family vibe feel to it. I once stay just after sunset walking and noticed a police officer there which was really welcoming. Very nice location and community. I moved here to Alexandria Louisiana from Houston Texas and this is probably my favorite place to go in this city.
