Never in my wildest dreams would I think I could find a castle in the middle of Kansas. Such a treat touring around discovering hiking paths that have sights you will fall in love with. Was a cold day but still enjoyed looking around enjoying the sights.
Trail is not very long, but it's nice to have some elevation change here in central KS. The "fort" is also neat to poke around in. And off the main roads so you get some good views and don't have to deal with the driveby traffic.
Nice scenic 1.6 mile hike with very light elevation gain/loss. Meandering paths with beautiful views and scenery.
Been there 7 times. Really can feel the wind in the fall. It is way less green in the fall. There are like two drop edges that one would need to be careful not to fall. Each path in it's circular trail has it's own character. I enjoyed eating at one of the furnaces the first time.
