Confirmed from Cottonwood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

i was so thankful to find a park with trails that were very immersed in nature and still double stroller friendly. it’s great that it’s a short loop so it can be a long or short walk depending on what time and babies allow.

★★★★★ — Sara , May 2023

Very nice little park with a Kids play ground, Pavilion, open grass field and a nice hiking loop through the woods. The trail is approximately 2/3 of a mile on the outer loop with a cute little bridge and a bench for relaxing under the trees. Lightly traveled and a nice spot to disconnect.

★★★★★ — Tom , Feb 2018

Cottonwood Park offers a pleasant outdoor setting with well-maintained grounds and trails. The park's playground is a highlight, with newer-looking equipment that appears to be in excellent condition. The trails are also well-kept, with a mix of gravel and grass that is regularly mowed.

Cottonwood is a nice park. It is located on a st that is not busy, it is back away from the street, there is a pavilion with tables/benches, there are not many people who often come to this park, there is one large grill and a built in table next to the pavilion for cooking and placing food during a party, the…

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 6 mentions

“If I had to say anything bad about this park it would be that the bathrooms are built in porta potties and there is a wasp nest which we were able to kill half of.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
