Confirmed from Covered Bridge County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Stream-adjacent park for picnics and fishing, featuring a covered wooden bridge built in 1876.
What runners say about Covered Bridge County Park
“There is plenty of parking, a good selection of benches and picnic tables, beautiful grass and gardens, and of course the covered bridge.”
“We visited the covered bridge in mid-July, just days after heavy rains, and were struck by its breathtaking and serene natural beauty.”
It's a great place for a quiet walk with a friend on a sunny day. A wonderful gem in a place you wouldn't expect to find it. Take a pair of binoculars, blanket to sit in the grass, and a lunch. Stay for a while and enjoy nature!
It was a cute little park. We were just passing through. It would have been nicer if there was a "loop" that we could have walked.
Beautiful, peaceful place to picnic or just hang out. There are a number of unobtrusive picnic tables, many of them in the shade. The creek is scenic, with frogs on the bank in summer. The bridge itself is in good repair and has a historic marker. Just be aware, however, that there is nowhere to walk or hike here.
Fun place for pics- not much hiking, but the river is beautiful, with plenty of picnic tables and some grills for public use. As a photographer, it is a nice local option for a covered space for portraits if the weather isn't so great. 😉
