Confirmed from Weaver Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Weaver Park
“So awesome that it has this beautiful habitat for sparrows and is NOT a frickin soccer field”
Beautiful Urbana park! This is a huge natural area with a single trail that loops through it- it is mostly prairie but it also has a pond and a small wooded area. The parking lot is a little bit west of the sign for the park which is a bit confusing, and the trail is not very well marked.
I went here to birdwatching. There is a small wooded are where one can see a few different kinds of woodpeckers, a Prairie area with birds like meadowlark (in summer), and a small pond and wetland area with various ducks, geese, blackbirds and occasional shorebirds, depending on the time of year.
Trail map doesn't quite match up, but a nice park to have within city limits.
One of my favorite parks in Champaign, has a cute little woodsy area that's fun to explore and have found many treasures walking around here, beware of muddy trails but totally worth it!
