We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Culver City Stairs yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Culver City Stairs

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (865 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“Officially part of the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, these 282 uneven, outdoor stone steps provide a challenging climb that is popular with fitness enthusiasts and locals alike.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Family friendly and the views are great.”

We parked at Baldwin Hills overlook, it was $4 for 2 hours of parking, we walked the trail down to the bottom of the hill then took the steps up. At the top of the stairs you follow the trail right back to your car.

What a workout and what a great place for hiking!!!!!! I enjoy hiking and walking up stairs so when I heard and saw pictures of this place-- it was time to see it and try out the trails as well as the stairs. It was a fun stair workout and the trails were great too. Family friendly and the views are great.

Good place for hike and trail is easy. Steps are big in size but it hardly takes 15-20 mins to reach top. Beautiful sunset view from top.

I came with family for a sunset walk/hike. Beautiful view of Los Angeles west side. The stairs itself was breathtaking.. I mean literally it was steep and semi aggressive.. had to take breaks for breathing. It is definitely family and dog friendly. Watch out for mosquitoes.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
