Confirmed from Deer Creek Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Deer Creek Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (41 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“The Woodway community is a beautiful place to walk, with woodland preserves that feel like you're in a national park while still close to home.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“It's quiet and the path itself is quite comfortable for walking.”

I’m giving this four stars, not because it’s not beautiful, but because it’s small and moderately difficult unless you’re fit. It’s mostly hills and stairs, but the trail is very well-maintained. Excellent place to go for a good glute workout!

Opened in 2016, Deer Creek Park is the newest (most recent) park to open in Woodway. The park's initial phase of 'development' includes a trail adjacent to the Deer Creek Park watershed. A trail that climbs to the meadow and a picnic area will be in future enhancements. (Pending available funds.

Really peaceful and beautiful trail. I saw a deer in the park. Due to the steepness of the trail, it may not be good for strollers or wheelchairs.

★★★★★ — Claudia , Mar 2024

Beautiful foliage. We spotted an owl and deer on our walk. There is a little exercise park at the top too amongst a lovely orchard.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
