Confirmed from Deer Grove East's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
1,500-acre preserve offering miles of trails for runners, cyclists & cross-country skiiing.
What runners say about Deer Grove East
“Deer Grove East has some of the highest quality and most beautiful prairies, wetlands, and woodlands I’ve seen with very few invasive species.”
Love it here and plenty of parking and safe place with a approx 3 mile trail and some off trail walks as well. A couple of little history stops for kids.
Great walking path loop with scenic prairie views, surrounds a couple ponds as well. On the very perimeter of the preserve off the trail next to Dundee and Quentin road there's a cool old house and a old feeder for cattle.
This place is magnificent. It's very spacious and there are miles of trails for people to walk or ride their bikes as well as breathtaking views. Along the path are several cool little attractions including a sundial which uses your own shadow to tell the time as well as cool little facts about indigenous birds carved…
I've spent a lot of time here through out the years. It's clean and the walkable pavement is very smooth. This park has very easy beginners hiking trails and it's a great place to take my dog here with me. Like every forest preserve, there are weirdos there but I've had minimal interactions.
