Confirmed from Devil's Hole State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Named for the rapids it overlooks, this park offers fishing, picnicking & hikes in the river gorge.
What runners say about Devil's Hole State Park
“Beautiful short trail from the parking down to the river bed, but be prepared as they are all stone steps so can be strenuous on the knees.”
“I like that it has a more natural, peaceful feel compared to the busy tourist areas.”
I went here with my two teenage kids it's about a mile Trek to the hole in the mountain. The air coming out of the holes probably 60° it's amazing when you've walked a mile in the summer heat.
I loved hiking here with my 2 kids (ages 11, 13). The stairs down are no joke.. but doable! There is a trail that you can hike once you are at the bottom by the Niagara River. It normally goes all the way to Whirlpool SP, however there was a rock slide or something so it is blocked off now.
Beautiful short trail from the parking down to the river bed, but be prepared as they are all stone steps so can be strenuous on the knees. We also took the side trail to explore the cave, the stone steps there have eroded so they were all slanting sideways.
What a beautiful view and scenery. I absolutely loved and enjoyed this place and it’s a perfect spot for trekking and hiking with ur furry buddies. Also u may need a pair of sneakers if trekking for the trail is a little rocky.
