Confirmed from Reservoir State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a variety of sports facilities, a reservoir for fishing & wintertime skiing & sledding.
What runners say about Reservoir State Park
“The track is always well kept, they cut the grass on both sides of the walking track & they recently installed work out areas along the path as well.”
“The scenery is beautiful, and the nature all around you is revitalizing and transcending!”
“Really nice because it has a shaded gazebo in the middle of the playground areas so you can sit and have shade while watching your kids, also has a really nice fitness area.”
Hike, Walk, Run around Niagara Reservoir. If you park at the Power Authority parking lot, and take paved trail up onto reservoir embankment, you can walk around most of the way. If you go counter clockwise, folowing the mile markers, around 6 miles you will come to a "no tresspassing" gate. Go through it, and at 6.
This park is great, very enjoyable for anyone of any age. The grounds crew really does keep the park looking great. The track is always well kept, they cut the grass on both sides of the walking track & they recently installed work out areas along the path as well.
Walking the elevated pathway provides an amazing view of the surrounding area and seeing the enormity of the project is hard to believe when you are walking or running it. The lodge and the main parking lot are on two separate roads and are not attached by a sidewalk which is a bit odd...
Love this park - it is perfect for long walks or playing baseball, softball, tennis. One negative is that soil drainage there is poor, so during wet spring, like we have this year, there is too much standing water in the grass. Also dog owners need to be aware of the tick problem, especially during warmer days.
