Confirmed from Dix Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Shady spot for woodland hikes with the kids and dog, plus a picnic area and an information kiosk.
What runners say about Dix Park
“Beautiful scenery and a nice little trail.”
“A beautiful quiet little park.”
“If you've never been to Dix Park and you enjoy a nice easy walk you should check this place out.”
Multiple trail options, a picnic shelter, children's area with a short "storybook trail." Something for everyone.
Great place to take kids out into nature and nice maintained hiking trails. A beautiful quiet little park. If you've never been to Dix Park and you enjoy a nice easy walk you should check this place out. They are making upgrades all the time too.
This park has great trails to explore! I found four trails to hike along with a story time trail. They just opened a natural nature play area that is very cool! I was treated to a bunch of different butterflies, bees and dragonflies. Theres a wide variety of birds and chipmunks galore.
Great place to walk the dogs. First picture to all rookie hikers. This is real nature. Trees do fall. There are lots of bugs. Second picture is the grain silo of a near by farm. You will meet friends that you did not know. You may call them strangers the first time you meet them.
Trail conditions & character
“There are restrooms at the entrance, but I've never used them so couldn't tell you what they're like”
“They have mowed trails through the fields that are great fun to either walk dogs through or let kids run around in as you can easily monitor.”
“There’s a paved parking area with plenty of parking spots!”
“The Farm Lane Trail was mostly solid at a time when other local trails were very muddy.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
