Confirmed from Morgan Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Country park with a paved mile-long loop, and several longer unpaved trails through the woods.
What runners say about Morgan Park
“My wife and I appreciate the pure, clean opportunity for people to experience the outdoors and get some information about soil, bugs, and plants/flowers.”
“Trails could use better marking, (and perhaps a few more boardwalks over swampy areas,) but all in all, it is a beautiful park.”
“Good place to take your dog on a walk, just remember to check them for ticks.”
WOW!!! What a GREAT opportunity :-). Our family was driving from NYC to Milwaukee and stopped off for a run. We used the paths (field and woods). The swing a pavilion are wonderful!

Nice park to walk with flat, wide limestone trails. Good place to walk with a friend or walk your dog.
A short portion of the trail is gravel and out in the open but if you follow the trail into the woodlands it's quite beautiful. It was muddy after a rainfall. I would recommend hiking boots. Total trail is about 4 miles if you continue on to the preserve.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
