Confirmed from Downtown Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (209 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

“(Toddlers-Older kids) Great location, and it's always clean.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Love the families that come to this park and it's even got some shady spots for parents to sit and watch their kids.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Love that this park has 3 different sets of play equipment for all ages.”

Its a nice park! I love that there is sunscreen and hand sanitizer readily available. We also love the Story Walk, which is where the library posts a new story every month on the story boards. There are separated areas for littles and older kids. There is also a basketball court as well.

★★★★☆ — Pauline , Apr 2023

This is a good park for kids. There are three separate playgrounds for different levels of play. There is one basketball court and several picnic areas. No soccer fields or anything but there is a trail that leads straight to the library which is great.

★★★★★ — Ryan , Jun 2018

Nice location. Not much parking, but you can also park by the library and walk. Nice playground that will be even better once the newly planted trees grow a bit and provide some shade.

★★★★☆ — A. , Oct 2018

Great park for all ages of small people. Multiple slides, climbing structure, swings and totters that teeter. Also a very cool story trail with new kids books monthly (I think)

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
