Confirmed from Dr Robert B. Hayling Freedom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Dr Robert B. Hayling Freedom Park
“It's ALWAYS wonderful 💫✨💫 So many beautiful walks with my PupLove Blu here the past 8 years we have lived here 💙”
Great place to get your walk in BUT slightly desolate...so be careful if you are a single woman!
Such a cute little walking trail. Was a beautiful day outside. We had a great time.
Great little walk on the water! There are horses right before the entrance of the park. The horses are the ones you see downtown giving carriage rides to people. There are even baby horses as well, so my son enjoyed it!
Pleasant short walk. Very little shade. Go in the morning or in the evening. Worth it for the view over the water and obelisk art. Also, the neat little windchime you can bang on with included hammers at the south end!
Trail conditions & character
“With open and expansive views of water ways and the sound of horses nearby coupled with the historical purpose of the park , you will get a full experience!”
“Nice view and easy loop walk that’s off the beaten path and features a Love Letters Mailbox, benches, and musical art.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
