We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Marsh Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Marsh Trail
“Easy trail and plenty of wildlife.”
This is a beautiful and short hiking trail between the dunes and the western shore of Salt Run. It's a great way to experience the interface between the maritime dune environment and the mangrove lined shore of Salt Run.
Walked along this trail after doing the entire Ancient Dune Trail loop. The Marsh Trail is a flat walk that is entirely in the sun and follows along the water. The highlight of this walk was all of the crabs!
The Marsh Trail is one of the several short trails at Anastasia State Park near Saint Augustine, Florida. It is a well marked trail that parallels the marsh. It is mostly out in the open, with no shade, so be prepared with sunscreen. Very relaxing and pretty views. Recommended.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
