One of my favorite places to ever exist. So many neat trails and so many incredible opportunities to see wildlife. I love looping around the trails when I need to clear my head. I've watched the sunset here countless times and have seen dozens and dozens of deer. It's breathtaking.
Multiple Trails are well maintained. Some areas are shaded. Several different species of Wildflowers and other non-Flowering plants are native to Fort Wayne, Indiana. These plants feed a multitude of Bees, Insects, Butterflies, and Moths. Which also feeds larger animals up the food chain.
Absolutely adore this place. I've been walking the trails for a while now, and it's beautiful in every season. So much wildlife if you know where to look. From bald eagles, your usual herons, and water fowl, to interesting bugs, amphibians, and reptiles. This place is a gem and I'll never grown tired of it.
The wetland nature preserve is very quiet. The wildlife is dense , we saw countless rabbits, deers and birds. You feel like you are not in the city . It’s a nice 3 miles for the loop . No dogs allowed on the wetland part. Nice place to go with kids to observe and learn about nature .
