Confirmed from Eagle Point Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Easy walking trails and a boat dock on the lake at this wooded nature reserve.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

Great place for a trail run, we love family hikes here. If you're one of the people who left a bad review for this place and others, yes bring your bug repellent anywhere you go to hike, yes take a photo of the map sign if you have no sense of security direction, and absolutely there will be roots, dirt, and trees -…

Really cool hiking spot near the lake, all trails are well maintained and multiple loop trails.

Nice, kid friendly hike. The kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the water and I enjoyed all the beautiful trees. Lots of poison ivy and oak on the sides of the trail but not in the trail. It seems well maintained but there are a lot of trees that look close to falling, a few hanging over the trail, so be careful.

I love Eagle Point Nature Preserve. If you are looking for a strenuous hike with lots of hills, this is not the place, but the trails are beautiful and it’s a great place for bird watching. The first time I was there I had the good fortune to be standing next to a tree from which an adult eagle flew out. Epic.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
