Confirmed from East Lakeshore Trail Mizell Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Beautiful scenery, peaceful, and also well-maintained.”

One of the best marked trails I have hiked You would have to close your eyes and walk to get off trail. Very peaceful. Must be great with spring / summer foliage.

★★★★★ — Rob , Feb 2024

pretty cool trail. would be a good place to take your sweetie if you have one. you can definitely tell you're close to civilization, however, but you'll always get that feeling unless you go to GSMNP or something

★★★★☆ — Jack , Feb 2023

As most branches of East Lakeshore Trail do, Baker Hollow Branch follows the Eastern shore of Tellico Lake and provides nice views. The best view, from Mizell Bluff, is just over .5 mi from this trailhead. There are multiple places to access the lake in case you bring your dogs or just want to cool down.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
