Confirmed from Easter Island Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly hiking area with trails that follow an old train route, plus biking.
What runners say about Easter Island Trail
“Beautiful scenery and great views back across to the lake.”
“This is a great trail to run- it follows an old train route”
We did the entire loop around Watson Lake and it was Amazing. We did the tree house loop as well and went down to see the Secret Cove. We also added the outside loop of Flume Trail. The Over the Hill section is the toughest part.
Beautiful and brutal! Great for some intense biking. I have to assume it would be cool hiking as well. Was able to clean everything within a couple tries but man my legs hurt by the end. And it was quite hot too so I drank about 3L of water during my ride.
Make sure you take the cut off trail when on the prevail trail pr you will end up where you not be at Watson lake turn around do not follow the sign that says trail head parking st route 89 you will be way out of the way like 7 miles
Well sign posted once you take the trail off the main iron king/peavine trail. White dots easy to follow. Beautiful scenery and great views back across to the lake. We worth the ealk to get there from any of the parking areas.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
