Confirmed from Granite Gardens Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Trails amid craggy rocks, popular for hiking and climbing.
What runners say about Granite Gardens Trails
“No fees for parking and you can rest beneath the cool trees and have a picnic or go through a fun walk through the beautiful granite dells.”
“The views are magnificent and the trails are well marked with the white paint dots.”
Such a great spot for a family hike. Their is a cool cave, a old abandoned room with a door. Hiking on top of the rocks is almost other worldly. A good spot for repelling. A beautiful little creek with a small bridge. Kid and dog friendly.
We stayed add a retreat in Granite Gardens. These trails started right at the back of the property. It was awesome to leave the treehouse, turn the corner and be able to explore these granite dells. The trail system is not very long, about one point five miles, but you can explore off trail.
I've driven through this area multiple times and never knew this free to the public park was here, not to mention the multitude of hiking trails. It's absolutely gorgeous and full of plants and wildlife with scenic views of the area.
WONDERFUL family hike with so much natural beauty!! We visited this park with 5 little kids, aged 7 to 4mo. They all loved it - and we can't wait to go back 😍

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
