We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Eco Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Reclaimed landfill with hiking and biking trails (portions of which are hilly), plus picnic tables.
What runners say about Eco Park
“Eco park has beautiful trails for hiking, walking, running, or cycling!”
Peaceful and so beautiful! Pack a lunch and enjoy a hike here! Don't forget your camera though, you will want to remember the beauty!!
Great place to have a day hike or for biking. You get to choose the distance and difficulty. Since we only had a couple of hours we decided to walk down to Grape Creek by taking the Water Gap trail. We had plenty of time to explore, take pictures, and examine rocks.
11/10 would recommend for those looking for an escape into nature less than 10 minutes from downtown Cañon City. Can't tell it was an old County Dump (legitimately it was, it was land reclaimed and turned into a park), picnic tables and a natural spring reside in the park, and your choice of TONS of trail systems.
Great way to spend a day mountain biking, hiking, or just walking around. If you have a mountain bike take some laps on smooth criminal!
Trail conditions & character
“I'd like to come back some time and follow the creek up to the west end of Temple View Park or take the Hard Time Trail up to where it seems to end on CR-3.”
“Great area for walking dogs great for running around, flying kites, looking around at mountain ranges it just couldn't get much better.”
