Confirmed from El Toro Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sizable, grassy park with a paved bike path & shade trees, plus a playground & tennis courts.
What runners say about El Toro Park
“I have been coming here for years and people are always friendly and the park is always clean.”
“The best playground for families , trees , shade, slides , mini gym”
This is a nice park the Aliso Creek Trail passes through and it is quite nice with fields and a playground area. Also the restrooms are clogged because some moron put toilet paper in the toilets.
An amazing trail that winds from Lake Forest through Mission Viejo and then terminates in Laguna Hills. The walkways are suitably paved for walking, running and cycling. There are waterways and lush greenery throughout.
This is a very nice park. It has a big kids playground with lots of benches so you can watch your kids, lots of rolling hills, lots of trees, a kiosk with picnic tables, long walkways for biking and scooter riding. There are also two lighted tennis courts and an area with self powered exercise machines.
Great walking/ Riding path. Lots of grass area and enough picnic tables. Dog water fountain/ drinking fountain/bottle refill stations

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
