Confirmed from Eliza Howell Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Spacious city park offering nature trails, wildlife views & open lawns amid overgrown native plants.
What runners say about Eliza Howell Park
“It's beautiful, spacious, and favorite for many birders.”
“Park is by major roads so the hiking won't necessarily be quiet.”
Since I moved to Detroit I’ve been looking for a good nature trail in the city. This is the best I’ve encountered yet. I plan to go back and hike the whole thing.
This place is a bit wild but very beautiful. There is a little play structure and a really neat sculpture here. Also some very nice walking trails.
I've enjoyed going to this park for the past couple of weeks. It's beautiful, spacious, and favorite for many birders. Thanks to Leonard Weber, I've been able to see so many things I wouldn't have been able to notice on my own, and I've learned so much about bird nesting habits!
Fun park in Detroit's Brightmoor along the Rouge River. Went to see the the artistic stickwork sculpture with my kids. They loved it! Ran around and thought the sculpture for 45 minutes, in and out so many different paths. Then we went over to the kids play structure and ran around and down the slides for a while.
