Confirmed from Ernst Bike Trail Krider Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Great simple, easy trail for all ages.”

We like riding here for several reasons. It's close by, it's not usually overly crowded, and it's relatively flat. We like to start at the Meadville/Home Depot trailhead, as it's a gentle climb to the other end, making the return trip easy.

Visited with our bikes for the first on 8/27/22. Parked at the Krider Trailhead - limited parking here. Maybe 2 cars plus a handicap spot? Covered pavilion with picnic tables for lunch spot. We rode the entire paved section, along with the connector to Meadville. Beautiful trail, nice scenery.

★★★★★ — Yinzer , Aug 2022

This trail is worth a visit. It's paved, shady, and scenic. I personally find it better for running than biking because it is only 8 miles or so round trip. Others may find an 8 mile bike ride to be perfect. There are several access points.

★★★★☆ — Gil , Dec 2019

It's a nice trail not crowded, some of the trail goes along French Creek. Portable toilets. Look for the Bean trail area . Where I parked there was a small parking area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Only thing that was less than perfect is that the asphalt was ribbed like a washboard for a few miles so it made for tiring wrists as I was biking along.”
