We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Ernst Nature Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Ernst Nature Trail
“Every part of this trail is enjoyable and beautiful year round.”
The new trail is really nice for running, walking, taking your dog for a walk, and cycling. It's about 11 total miles from the Bean's Trailhead to here. The path is currently a black cinder but is pretty smooth for the most part. I'll definitely be riding this trail again.
Every part of this trail is enjoyable and beautiful year round. The unpaved portion from Conneaut Lake to the Bailey Road trailhead and connector is unpaved, leading to the approximately 4.5 mile pit and back paved trail.
Beautiful walk... A mix of sun and shade wildlife stunning trees and wildflowers
Great trail to walk, bike, or hike. This stretch is one of my favorites. Very glad it was recently added and continuously renovated. Keep up the great work.
