Well maintained trails and roads. On the path I first had to ask myself 'Are wild pigs friendly?' As I approached they noticed me and ran off squealing. That's when I realized they must be female, because that happens all the time to me.
Beautiful, remote, and quiet (except when the occasional boat cruises down the river)! There are plenty of roads well enough maintained you can drive down, or you can just park at the front and walk them. I saw plenty of birds, wildlife, and a couple gators!
One of my favorite places in alabama to visit. I love taking a weekend trips here,visit twice a month from March until October every year now. The best advice i can give is to GET OUT OF YOUR CAR AND WALK AROUND THE REFUGE
