Confirmed from Southside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

A lot of room for the kids to run, nice equipment, clean, has picnic tables, grills, pool, restrooms, ample parking, but is on a main road with heavy, fast traffic. I highly suggest a fence on the side on the roadway.

Nice park complex!! Clean and well maintained. Pavilion area provides the only real shade once the sun is up. Took a hike on the paved trail system and around the entire grounds. Several different and signed loops of paved trails leading up and into a wooded area.

★★★★☆ — Gary , Apr 2023

The park was fun,it wasn't crowded, the kids were able to run from the splash pad to the play ground, the only complaint was the men bathroom was nasty,we had a picnic at the tables away from the Sun

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
