Confirmed from Fairland Recreational Park - Greencastle Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park providing a basketball court, a playground and hiking trails amidst scenic woodland.
What runners say about Fairland Recreational Park - Greencastle Trail
“Please clean up after your dog and your HORSE.”
The trails are nice, but are beginning to become washed out. There is a bathroom, but no water fountain. I don't like the rocks lining the parking spots. I understand why they are there, but they are hard to see and easy to hit. It is usually crowded here.
Good regional park with decent 4 to 5 trails. Couple of trails have proper roads and couple of them are made of dirt roads. There is not much elevation hence good for all ages. Saw people even biking through the dirt trails. Nice for a small hike and for somebody who wants to start towards hiking.
Had great trails and it was an amazing place to walk around. While I know there are play activ8ties for younger people, I did not pay much attention to them because I mostly went for the trails.
Great place for a bike, or a hike. The views of the stream remind me of a dream. Amazing bike jumps, pump, board walks and single track. Please clean up after your dog and your HORSE.

Plan your run at Fairland Recreational Park - Greencastle Trail
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
