Confirmed from Falls Lake Dam's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Pretty lake area featuring a dam, fishing spots and walking trails.
What runners say about Falls Lake Dam
“I miss it So much, Thank you for the Dam of Beauty and walking with God and his Beautiful nature.”
“Falls Lake Dam was the perfect spot for a peaceful, laid-back afternoon.”
Falls Lake Dam was the perfect spot for a peaceful, laid-back afternoon. My fiancé took me here for a surprise picnic, and it was honestly such a beautiful experience. The area is well-maintained, with plenty of open space to spread out a blanket and just enjoy nature.
Awesome place for sunrise and sunsets! I recommend walking or biking there if you’re close enough or know where the Neuse River trail access points are. Fishing, boating, trail walks, this place is great, especially if you’ve got children who need to expend some energy!
Good place for a short walk or for water sports. A few good fishing spots.
I love my Saturday mornings waking up drinking my coffee read my meditation after working the whole week. I would go to the dam and walk the trail. One of my favorite part seeing a deer. My husband and I live in Marion Virginia now.
