Confirmed from Farmstead Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Farmstead Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (277 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“Kept very clean, there is a volleyball court, a basketball court on addition to the playground.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“The playground is fun and clean, and the trails are beautiful and plentiful.”

Great park, songs, volleyball, basketball, and restrooms. Great place for families. Love biking the trails!

We have our own names for every park we go to because it's just how we do things. And while we love this park, we do refer to it as poop slide park. Because... one summer, a few years ago, a kid went down the slide and a big brown streak followed behind him. No one cleaned it off ... It was there for sometime.

Farmstead Park is always where I begin the journey on the Clinton River trail system. I always come here and walk to the trail down to either side. During festivals, it’s great to park here and then walk to the festival from your car.

Great park! Never crowded! Brand new basketball Rims n blacktop, along with a brand new beach-type volleyball court! Only drawback is the fact that the bathrooms and drinking fountains are out of order. Nice little playground for the kids. Also a nice trail running around the woodlands of the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 11 mentions

“Also, the playground is good for small children, lots of swings, it does have a bathroom, and we like the trails behind it that lead to Dodge Park.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
