Confirmed from Father Charles M. McNaboe Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Space for sports (basketball, baseball, soccer) and hiking on trails, plus picnics.
What runners say about Father Charles M. McNaboe Park
“It's a beautiful view to the Rio Grande river, no fence, you could throw rocks all the way across or skip them on top through the water.”
Great all around park with a complete view of the Rio Grand River into Mexico. This park has baseball diamonds, volleyball courts, basketball courts, soccer and football fields. It has a long bike paved trail that loops around the park.
It's a beautiful view to the Rio Grande river, no fence, you could throw rocks all the way across or skip them on top through the water. Doggy park, volleyball nets and soccer Plus walking trails, playgrounds for children and disabled people swings, big tall bright lights and porta parties, and if you're lucky you…
Great outdoors experience. There is a lot of spaces to perform most type of sports activities. You have basketball courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, an excellent walking trail. The scenery is excellent as well, there are lots of benches and barbeque grills in case you feel like having a cookout.
If you're not familiar with the area, it might be a bit hard to find. But once you're in, it's nice to walk near the river, play sports, ride bikes, etc... The overall view is nice. And yes, border patrol is there too, not that that anything to do with the rating.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
