Confirmed from La Bota Trails - Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Secluded area offering mountain bike trails, and hiking paths that lead past homes.
What runners say about La Bota Trails - Trailhead
Very nice & secluded mtb trail. I went to hike here. There is construction on a new building at the “trailhead”. You can park in the residential area. If you find the bike station, go straight, past the new building and then you can access the trails. There is also no tree cover! So bring a hat & sunscreen.
The bike trail is a little hard to find due to the distance. I think it was decent better than the car traffic. You feel sometimes your going to get lost because there aren’t many markings along the way.
What an amazing trail. Did the short trail on a Saturday and the whole trail on Sunday, what a workout. Well marked once you get onto trail except for one section, DONT TAKE THE ROAD DOWN TO THE ROVER
This is the best and most challenging of the trails available in Laredo to cycle on. The runs are great if you like to see the rural side of laredo. Different views plants bugs and a few animals out here. This one will tire you out if you let it. Definitely a place to hit up if you are a cyclist.
Trail conditions & character
“Great trail with everything from technical climbs, and fast technical descents to riding ridge lines and dropping into 400 ft canyons on 90% singletrack in a 7.”
“Then come to find out your back at the beginning only been making twist and turns going up and down hills onto the main road.”
“There is construction on a new building at the “trailhead”.”
“Also, there aren’t many trail markers so follow the established paths & steer clear of the “no trespassing” areas.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
