Confirmed from Federal Hill Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Federal Hill Trails
“Was really nice, well maintained trails”
“In the spring/summer there are beautiful wild flowers planted all over.”
“These trails are snowmobile trails, they are well marked and wide.”
One of my favorite local places to hike! Trails are kept in excellent condition. Springtime brings an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife is everywhere. Go up to Henry's View and treat yourself to a magnificent view towards the east and south. Love heading up to catch an early sunrise.
Great well maintained trails. Lots of sun and openness. Lots of trails headed in different directions but well marked. The Loop trail is the main one. It took us an hour out and back. Another option was Loop to Vista trail headed up to an amazing view. 30 mins each way.
These trails are snowmobile trails, they are well marked and wide. Much of the loop is flat, with about 25% having modest grades. Hike as much or as little as you want. Many varieties of trees, wild flowers and mushrooms. Many streams. A pleasant area. It is right on the Milford/Amherst line.
So many options - lots of steepness on some, nice views and wide, groomed trails. Great for trail running.
