Confirmed from Spalding Park - Hollis Town Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Spalding Park - Hollis Town Forest

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (30 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Saw a wealthy person running around manicly with a frying pan here, can someone tell me what's going on??

★★★★★ — Ryan , Jun 2023

Love this place. Take my dogs here often. A week ago I lost a pair of pink Maui Jim sunglasses. They dropped out of my shirt when I was holding my dogs away from an off-leash dog that ran up to us.

★★★★★ — Jessee , Jun 2023

This is a nice place to hike, with some hills, and a variety of trails. Maps are posted in places and are helpful, but you may still need your phone location to help find your way out in a timely manner (as I did).

★★★★★ — Shelso , May 2019

Wide variety of trails through dense forrest. Multiple ponds and streams along many of the routes. Wild blueberries are present in July and abundant foliage color in the Fall.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking

“I’ve gone back several times since, hoping to find them on a trailhead sign, but I’ve checked all the entrances and have had no luck.”
