We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Floracliff Nature Sanctuary yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Educational nature preserve known for its waterfalls, birdwatching and hiking trails.
What runners say about Floracliff Nature Sanctuary
“Flora Cliff is incredibly beautiful whether hiking in spring and seeing purple and yellow wild flowers, leaves changing color in fall, or peaceful "forest bathing".”
Amazing place dedicated to teaching everything about native plants, and animals. This place does an awesome job keeping part of Kentucky land preserved. If you want to visit you must either become a volunteer, or enlist in one of the many event programs throughout the year.
Wonderful hiking trails in a limestone gorge, in the Kentucky River Palisades. (Private preserve; hikes by appointment only. Visit their web page for details.)
I attended a class on microinvertabrates and fish of Kentucky here. The class of very informative and they have a great building on site to host the event. There are also good trails to go hiking, but the site is only open on appointment or doing events.
Great place to go for guided hikes, the staff are very knowledgeable and good at describing all the plants and wildlife. They host a variety of hikes throughout the year, as well as programs focusing on specific animals.
