Confirmed from Florence Rail Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Florence Rail Trail
I have been visiting this trail with my dog for approximately 2.5 years, and we have never encountered any issues. The trail offers two options: a hiking path and a road lined with trees. When I take my dog, I typically choose the hiking path due to its scenic rivers and trees, which he enjoys exploring.
Love this place. I feel safe here and like I'm NOT about to be taken by serial killer. It's clean and well maintained. I've only seen snakes 3 times in the 2 years I've been walking here.
Great place for walking your dog or for walking with family with nice scenery. Love the paved path.
A pleasant walking & biking trail. No sights. Just a walk thru the woods. The newly added extension across Ebenezer Rd does give an elevated board walk across wet lands & around a beautiful pond on what was once the old Ed Young dairy farm.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
