Confirmed from Florida Trail Bear Pond Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Serene park surrounding a lake and a pond, offering trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
What runners say about Florida Trail Bear Pond Trailhead
“You can also go right and follow the white trail which I am guessing is more scenic than the way I took and loops you back to the orange path where you started.”
“It has lovely scenery and plenty of shade.”
“The intersecting paths are not as well marked as other parks.”
“Very private and peaceful with a picnic bench, camp grill, and spot for the fire.”
The first half of the trail through the woods is really nice. Then you'll come to the camp shelter where you'll have the option to turn a left. This will take you to the sandy road way/ horse trail which is kind of boring to walk down but it takes you back to the parking lot.
Had a great time here! Did a 2 hour hike and ate lunch in the picnic area. Saw a tortoise 🐢! A nice and quiet place!
Our favorite place to hike in Sanford. Beautiful scenery and it’s a great trail for beginners and hikers of all ages
Great place to jump onto The Florida Trail. There is plenty of parking, covered picnic table area and pit toilet.
