Confirmed from Folsom Hike and Bike Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly open space boasting paths and trails for walking, running, hiking and biking.
What runners say about Folsom Hike and Bike Trail
“Very well kept area except dog owners have not been picking up after their pups.”
Love walking here. People are friendly! Love taking pictures here too!
This park is a very great way to exercise with motivation. The parking lot is clean, safe, and monitored. When you begin your walk/run/bike, you can enjoy the sounds of nature and sights of small wildlife.
A good place to get the endorphins jump started. It is 2.8 miles if you do the entire walk according to the markings. It has slopes and uphill portions for you to challenge your body. It is refreshing to see people greet one another as they pass on their way with a wave ir a head nod.
Great for walking, biking, and I would say it's wheelchair accesible since the path is paved. Plenty of parking, and people generally are good about keeping their dogs on a leash leash. Not too much wildlife during the day but once the sun set we saw frogs and even a bat!

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
