Confirmed from Foothills Trails Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Foothills Trails Trailhead
“Many levels of hiking trails and ATV trails to the top of the Mesa with beautiful views all around.”
“There is no shade, so wear a hat and bring water, especially if you are hiking in the summer.”
The trailhead is difficult to find, if you are using a maps app and it’s your first time. It is close to town and easy to get to, once you find it. The address listed here is about a third of a mile from the actual trailhead. There is a small picnic area and public restrooms.
The dry, sandy trail starts on the paved trail by the windsock. The last 0.20 was scrambling on rocks up the wash. The trail is unclear at times but it is easy to find your way. interesting geology and cool little Apache Tears (rocks) along the trail. I didn't see another soul.
Many levels of hiking trails and ATV trails to the top of the Mesa with beautiful views all around. Public restroom, BBQ pit, tables and shade.
Fantastic park for easy to moderate hiking, nice views overlooking the valley.
