Confirmed from Forest Beach Migratory Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Forest Beach Migratory Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (46 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“What once was a golf course is now a beautiful and lush landscape with birds and other animals who should have always been there in the first.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Are you looking for a quiet place to get out and walk and get in tune with nature this is it.”

A bit disappointed that pets are no longer allowed here. Makes sense to protect wildlife, but they used to be allowed so it was unexpected when I tried taking my dog for a walk there today. However, it's a beautiful place and I would recommend for a nature walk.

Are you looking for a quiet place to get out and walk and get in tune with nature this is it. This was a really beautiful spot to enjoy birding wildlife in Port Washington Wisconsin.

★★★★★ — Leeann , Oct 2023

If you are looking for a quiet place where you can stroll through nature, this is it. The preserve is huge. I've been there several times this winter, and I haven't encountered anyone else on my walks.

★★★★★ — Michelle , Jan 2017

Great out of the way place for birding and just being outside. Well maintained trails and lots of space to wonder.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
