Confirmed from Harrington Beach State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 8 mentions

“There's a well stocked camp store if you need camp food, and a huge beautiful beach for picnics or parties or quiet wading.”

We stayed at the campground during the week. The campsites are very private. You don't really know that you have neighbors. The main restroom was clean. Most of the campsites have a nearby pit toilet. Those were clean as well. The hiking and biking trails were easy. The beaches on lake Michigan were fun to walk.

Large campsites give easy access to the wild-looking shore of Lake Michigan (within walking distance) and the fun of Chicago under an hour away). The campsites in the low 300s let you walk right out onto the beach.

Went here to paint. Lots of short trails to both Lake Michigan and a former quarry lake. Dress in layers, as it was nearly 80° inland but the winds off the lake can make it feel like 60°! Beach is clean except for seagull droppings in certain areas.

Beautiful Wisconsin State Park of gorgeous Lake Michigan. I visited the on a Sunday afternoon late July although there were trails to hike and an observation tower, my main intention was the beach/lake. Nice sandy beach and plenty of room for quite peaceful enjoyment.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
