Confirmed from Fort Dent Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Soccer park featuring various fields as well as playgrounds and trails.
What runners say about Fort Dent Park
“Most of these are well maintained and covered with new artificial turf.”
“Beautiful place offers showers from 8 am to 10 pm daily for general public.”
Like all western Washington parks right now, it is green and lush. Bordered by the green river to on its southern end. The river acts a natural feature enhancing the setting. The park and recreational area is also part of the Sounders training camp. Several soccer, football, pitches ring the central parking lots.
We were here for a soccer game. Fort Dent Park has been here for years, but recently it's turned into a kid's team sports training area. Frustrating that they charge for parking... Lots of trees and great walking paths, though.
I only ran by this park along the Green River trail and man this place looks a lot of fun. There are several athletic fields and they look well maintained. There is a playground, restrooms and lots of parking.
Is a nice playground with a walking path at the back of all the soccer fields. The playground had some great equipment, my nearly 3 year old could enjoy most of it. There were some stuff that would be great for older kids and a smaller playground for younger kids as well. 2 baby swings and 2 regular swings.
Trail conditions & character
“From what I understand, parking can be limited as the start times draw near.”
“Plus no predator can climb up and steal the eggs or mess with them after they hatch.”
“The kids enjoy the playground, but the playground bathrooms, when open, are not great (that is why I give the rating of a 4).”
“Bald eagle built a nest on the stadium lights.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
