Confirmed from Four Dances Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Four Dances Recreation Area
“This is a location where one can balance the length, time and stride when walking or hiking the beautiful area.”
“Nice easy trail to an overlook of the city and Yellowstone river.”
Great views, don’t pass this quick hike, worth it. We’ve had lots of rain so everything is green and the river is swelling.

Great place close to town, fantastic for quick little day hikes. You can go down to the river and explore, up to the top of the rims to overlook the whole valley, or even check out the Will James cabin.

- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
