Confirmed from Frances A. Crane Wildlife Management Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Frances A. Crane Wildlife Management Area
“Excellent place to take your dogs for a run in the spring be very careful of ticks beautiful scenery”
Don't make the mistake of being in a hurry when you plan to visit. Crane, especially this time of year through October is absolutely awesome. Each trail beckons to you, and just 5 more minutes becomes another hour. Spray for ticks, I have seen an increase in deer ticks, and your foolish not to.
Visited this place for the first time today. As others have said, there's lots a trails to explore. I would recommend doing this with someone, not alone as it is obviously secluded. Great little hike today! :)
Not sure what day that people fly model airplanes. It's fun to watch. Great area for trail running, walking, mountain biking, running your dog and hunting during hunting season.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
