Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Trails don't have a lot of shade, so go equipped with hats and sunscreen if you are hiking mid day.”

Really enjoyed the hike! Good mix of shaded and sunny path. Would recommend getting there in the morning when the sun is high above and warms up the area. Saw some wild deers and lots of birds. Definitely going back 😊

Quite a few trails are there along the folds of the mountain, part easy partly somewhat steep. We did the Hunter's Point Ans Seven Springs. The trail for the second one was very slushy and slippery, maybe due to rains earlier.

Great place to hike in the winter/ spring! Nice sunny day that doesn't feel to hot yet. Decent shade taking the seven springs loop. Easier to find street parking than parking in the parking lot. Make sure to take the dirt road from the parking lot instead of the paved road. The views are amazing.

I used to hike here when I was young and it is just as lovely. Yhe wild horses no longer roam the hills and a disappointing difference is that there are now enormous mansions built on the edges of the preserve that can ruin the view. The parking lot used to always be empty and it apparently is now always full.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
