Confirmed from Gage Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A popular park for picnics, with attractions including a pool, carousel, gardens & outdoor concerts.
What runners say about Gage Park
“Very well kept and friendly staff.”
“This park also offers a fishing pond, shelter houses that can be reserved and rented, beautiful gardens, areas to walk, a dog park and Blaisdell Pool opposite of the park and zoo.”
It's quite large park with lots of fun to do. Zoo, play ground, rose garden, mini train(not operating every day), pond... perfect place for walking and relax under the tree.
It was chilly and windy the day we visited. Tulips and hyacinths were blooming and smelled lovely. Found a hydrangea bush that had dried flowers that I found pretty. Obviously the rose garden was out of season and the fountains were not running. There still was a little ice over the area that has fish.
Great place to spend a a relaxing day outside! Plenty of trails to walk, playgrounds for the kids, as well as animal sculptures to play on or take family photos by. Or, you can ride the mini train round the park, rides are available for $2 per person, or ride the carousel for $2 a ride.
Not from Topeka but thoroughly enjoyed our walk in the park. Wide and well-maintained cement paths, large mature shade trees and so many things to do and see such as the gardens, carousel, zoo, train, playground/picnic areas, zoo and so much more. Well done!!!
